Master’s Welcome – Feb 2025

As we enter the month of February, we find ourselves in the heart of winter—a season that brings a time of reflection and renewal. In nature, this is a time of quiet growth beneath the surface, and much like the natural world, our Lodge is a place where the seeds of knowledge, brotherhood, and charity continue to grow in strength and purpose.

At our upcoming meeting, we will have the honor of conducting a First Degree for Mr. Dennis Abraham. This is always a momentous occasion for any Lodge, as it marks the beginning of a new Brother’s journey within our Fraternity. Let us remember that every Degree we confer is not just a ritual but an opportunity to impart the timeless values of Freemasonry—values that will guide and shape Mr. Abraham’s life as he joins us in our shared work.

The First Degree is a profound introduction to the Craft. It serves as a reminder of our own beginnings, and of the lessons we continue to learn as we walk the Masonic path. As we welcome Mr. Abraham, let us take this opportunity to reflect on the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth that bind us together. It is through these principles that we continue to grow as individuals and as a Lodge.

Winter’s stillness offers us the perfect opportunity to come together in fellowship, to reflect on our own Masonic journey, and to renew our commitment to the Craft. Though the season may be cold, the warmth of our Lodge and the bonds of brotherhood continue to light our way. Together, we can support one another and build a stronger future for our Lodge and our community.

I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday February 18th, where we will not only welcome our new Brother but also strengthen the ties that unite us all. Let us gather in unity, reverence, and joy as we continue our work in Freemasonry.

All Brethren are invited to attend the Board of General Purposes meeting on Tuesday February 11th to see and be involved in the business of the Lodge.

Fraternally yours,
W. Bro. John Raso
Worshipful Master
Hugh Murray Lodge No. 602
