Welcome from the Worshipful Master
Brethren,
As the warmth of spring begins to bloom around us, I find myself especially grateful for the spirit of renewal, brotherhood, and the bonds that tie us together—both in Lodge and in life.
April brings with it a particularly exciting and meaningful month for our Lodge. It is my distinct honor and joy to announce that we will be welcoming our Grand Master, the Most Worshipful Brother Jamie R. Ireland, on a Fraternal Visit. His presence among us is always a source of inspiration and unity, and I know I speak for all of us when I say how eagerly we look forward to receiving him.
But the joy does not stop there.
With a full and grateful heart, I share that we will also be initiating a new Brother into our ancient and honorable Fraternity—my father, at the age of 87. This moment is deeply personal for me, and from the reactions of many of you with whom I’ve shared this news, it’s clear that it resonates beyond my own experience. While it is common to see sons, grandsons, and nephews join the Craft, it is a rare and humbling privilege for a Worshipful Master to initiate his own father. I can hardly put into words what this moment will mean to me, and I am honored to share it with you, my Brethren.
Let us come together in the true spirit of Freemasonry—as Brothers, as friends, and as a family—as we witness history in our Lodge room.
And of course, no such night would be complete without a little tradition of our own: Pie Night! After the evening’s labors, we’ll gather for fellowship and good cheer, with a table full of sweet favorites and savory stories.
Thank you for your continued support, your enthusiasm, and for the genuine brotherly love that makes this Lodge the special place that it is. I look forward to seeing you all there for a night we will surely remember for years to come.
Fraternally yours,
W. Bro. John Raso
Worshipful Master
Hugh Murray Lodge No. 602
